Ty's Birthday

For Ty's 4th birthday we met up with some friends at Hotel Rome in the Dells. Ty really enjoyed the waterpark. Deke didn't really want to get in at first, but eventually warmed up to the idea.

MMMM...Cookies

Deke got fussy because he wanted down, but when I'd hold up the camera, he'd start to smile and say cheese. I just caught the above picture before he could start smiling and saying "Chezz".

Uncle George's Wedding News

Uncle George called last night to ask the boys to be his ring bearers in his wedding in November. I'm so excited! I can't wait for this wedding. It should be a blast!
The pictures above were taken last night. Deacon was being super fussy. Tyler came over to comfort him and Deacon went straight into his arms and let Tyler carry him all around the house. Hard to believe that Ty is strong enough to carry him since Deke is only 10lbs lighter than Ty. It made Deacon stop crying and start giggling. Deke'd wrap his legs around Tyler's waist and Tyler would pick him up and just carry him all around. These two really are very cute together and I hope they stay close.

Wacky Hair Day

How cute are these two? It was wacky hair day at school and even though you can't tell from these pictures, Ty's hair was purple and
I managed to get a little purple color on Deke's as well. He has such crazy hair to begin with, it didn't take much work to make his look wacky. When I picked them up from school, they were all in the green room (a big room for them to run around in) and Tyler was walking around the room holding hands with Deacon and protecting him from the bigger kids that were tearing around. He is such an awesome big brother. Always looking out for Deacon.

Three Boys and a Candle

What could go wrong?

Last night, Joel and I had a Super Bowl party at the house. During the middle of it, a friend came from the bathroom to report that the boys were pulling apart my wicker laundry basket and sticking the "sticks" in the flames of a candle we had burning in there. Heather and I went back there to check on this and sure enough, Heather catches Tyler (wouldn't you know it would be mine) with a stick in the candle flame. The stick was on fire by the time Heather pulled it away from him and blew it out. Tyler got put in a time out and a stern talking to about the dangers of playing with fire. Later that evening after everyone went home, we asked Tyler whose idea it was to start putting the sticks in the candle flame. He promptly responded Connor. He then went on to tell me the whole story and this is the story according to Tyler:

"I asked Connor if he thought we should put the sticks in here {candle flame} and he said yes, so I did it. Dekey was up on the stool watching, but he didn't put anything in the fire."

Hmmm, yeah all Connor's idea. My little angel had nothing to do with this as everybody can now clearly see. Joel's response to all this was: "Where would Tyler get the idea to put sticks in the flame?" Again, things that make you go hmmm, I wonder? Could it be that almost every evening during the summer he watched his daddy putting sticks on a fire outside? No, that couldn't be it. (For those, that don't get the sarcasm, Connor had nothing to do with this. He was the sweet little boy that he always is and was being poorly influenced by my little heathen.)

Fortunately, the only thing that suffered any damage was my poor laundry basket.

Saturday night

Last night we got to watch Connor. The Bradbergs were kind enough to watch our two on Friday night, so we got Connor Saturday. Great times were had by all. Building and then destroying the train tracks, playing super hero, and in general causing mayhem and destruction. Just kidding, they were all great and the mess was kept to a minimum. At one point, Connor decided it was time to pick up and him and Tyler picked up Ty's room. What a sweetheart!

In the Tent

It is impossible to get a good picture of these two together. They were having so much fun playing in Deacon's Thomas tent, but I could not get them both to look at me the same time. It's funny that it's my almost four year old that I had the most issues with. Don't you just love Deke's Static Hair-do?
