Christmas Morning

This is for my parents, who I know wish that they could have been here this morning. It's pretty long so the MN friends will probably get bored with it. Don't worry, I won't know if you don't watch the whole thing. :) BTW, the beginning is dark. I turned on the lights after I started it. So give it a few moments before you get frustrated with it. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. The boys were super excited, especially Tyler. On Christmas Eve, he told me: "Mom, you NEED to put us to bed!" He was so worried that Santa would skip our house if he wasn't in bed. He then kept going "Do you hear that? I think I heard his sleigh." It was so much fun! Even Deke picked up on the excitement and at one point thought Santa was outside and was trying to open the door so he could come in. And while I was reading to Deacon, he kept saying: "Santa's coming tonight."
Christmas was great and I can't wait for next year.

Yes, I know I'm just asking for a trip to the ER. BUT, he loves this gift and it is far and away is favorite present this year. He couldn't wait to get outside and try it out. We are only allowing him on the baby hills of snow that gets plowed from our driveway. He actually does pretty well and has managed to stay balanced on the way down...sometimes. He falls a lot too, but fortunately the snow is so thick out there that it is a soft cold landing and he also wears a helmet.

Merry Christmas

Last Friday, we had the teens over for a Christmas party. We played rockband for a little while and Ty and Deke couldn't resist joining in on the fun. Deke played drums and Ty sang. Ty really did sing, but for Deke we just let him pretend to play.
This is the season for lots of cheap toys and tons of candy. Tyler got a pop ring the other day and really wanted to eat it. So I attempted to open it up for him. I got one part of it open, but I couldn't pull the ring out. I kept trying to widen the opening, but it wouldn't budge, so Ty asks me if he can try.
My response: "If I can't get it, what makes you think you can."
Ty: "My hands are smaller."
Darn him if he wasn't right.

Oh, Deacon. You are your own person. Definitely not a sheep :)

Just had to share this. Deacon certainly wasn't shy this year! I have another one where he's in front of everyone else just doing his own thing.

These two cuties had their preschool program. As soon as I can, I'm going to upload the video I took. They were so cute. We're getting more snow today. Supposed to hae 4-7 inches by tomorrow morning. Yeah!

Let it Snow, let it snow, let it snow

First big snow of the season. I think we got over 2' of snow and in some places it is easily 3'. The boys had a blast playing in it, but I don't think they'll be playing in it much longer this week. It is supposed to get bitterly cold. Hope to post more pictures later, but am having some difficulty with the post today. Maybe tomorrow.

San Antonio Trip

While in Texas, Joel and I took a little trip to San Antonio. This is one of my favorite cities (as long as you stay along the riverwalk.) This is the city Joel took me to when he proposed and we also went here to ring in the New Year 2000. What a wild time that was. We have so many memories here and it was great to go back. It was also super nice for it to be just Joel and I. This was the first time that we were away from the boys for two nights. They did awesome and everytime I called, I could hear them in the background sounding like they were having the time of their life. I hope we get to go back soon. We didn't do much, just relaxed and did a lot of walking along the riverwalk.

We got snow on Friday here and it gorgeous outside. The boys could not wait to go out in it yesterday morning. We had a super nice neighborhood boy that came and plowed our small driveway saving us a ton of hard work. He was nice enough to plow it up in a mound for Ty and Deke to have a very small snow hill in our yard. I love our neighborhood. Everybody here is so quick to help out everybody else. We did pay him, but he wasn't expecting it and that is really nice to see in a 15 year old.
