Youth Group

Tyler shot some hoops at Chuck E. Cheese. He actually made several of his shots. Such an athlete!

It has been a very busy week. It was my first full week back at work :-(
That's really been a tough transition, but we are starting to find out rythm. It was also a busy week with the youth group. We went to a concert Wednesday night in Lacrosse. It was great and I had a lot of fun. I forgot my camera though so I didn't get any pictures. It was so loud that my ears were ringing for hours after we got home. I was lucky enough to get the girls to ride with me and I have never felt so old. First they all piled into the back seat (3 girls went) and nobody would ride up front with me. I felt like such a Mom driving her teenagers around. Guess its a glimpse of my future, but it will be boys in the back instead of girls. On Saturday, we went to Chuck E. Cheese and High Roller (roller skating) Tyler, Deke, and Joel went with us to Chuck E. Cheese, but they didn't come to High Roller. It was a lot of fun. I busted my butt at High Roller though. That's what I get for trying to be cool and shake my groove thing. Way too old to be shaking my groove thing on skates. I totally wiped out. Fortunatly the only damage was to my pride.

I love this time of the year. Joel and I took Ty and Deke for a hike this afternoon and we all had fun playing in the leaves. Enjoy the pictures.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Saturday was my b-day and Joel took Tyler and I on a boat ride around Lake Pepin. It was on old paddle boat and Tyler really loved it. It was beautiful ride and the colors around the area are just so amazing right now. Our good friends, Heather and John watched Deke for us and then they watched Tyler for us when we got back allowing us to go out for dinner sans kids. It was a wonderful birthday and I loved hearing Tyler sing Happy Birthday to me. What a cute kid!

Fall

I just love this time of the year. The colors of the leaves are amazing! It is so beautiful up here right now. I took Tyler and Deke for a hike around the bluffs the other day and here are some of the great pictures I got. There's none of Deke because he was attached to me with our Snugli. Tyler and I hiked around for about an hour. He started to get a little worn out when we were halfway through and asked to take a few breaks, but he did really well and never once asked me to carry him which I would not have been able to do. f

Tyler has such an imagination now and he is so much fun to play with. We played blocks and cars tonight which is where we use blocks to build buildings and then drive the cars through them. He built a gas station (no idea where that came from) and kept filling his cars up. We then went "shopping". Him for food and me for clothes of course and then we went out to "eat". We had beans, cookies, juice, milk, and water. Delicious meal and no calories. My kind of place. It was so much fun. I can't wait for Deke to get old of enough to join in.

Clowning Around

These pictures are from Monday morning playgroup. Tyler dressed up as a clown which suits him perfectly. Below the boys (Brennen, Connor, and Tyler) are building a train track.
We took Deacon to the Dr.'s today and he is growing so fast. He is now 11 1/2 oz (25th percentile), 22 1/2" long (25th percentile) and his head is almost 16" (close to the 50th percentile). So he has a big head and it made quite the jump from when he was born.
He had to get his shots today which made me cry. He was all smiles for the nurse till she poked him. I was tearing him up before she even stuck him because I knew that smile wasn't going to last long. I really wished there was an easier way to give these babies their vaccines.

Dedication Day

Today, we had Deacon dedicated. I dressed both Tyler and Deacon a like. I think they look so cute in their matching outfits.

Taking a Bath

I put Deke in the tub with Tyler last night and he was so happy. Deacon got a big smile on his face when he realized the big brother Tyler was in the tub with him. We didn't catch the smile on film, but trust me it was there. Tyler was pretty excited too. Deacon is such a happy baby for the most part. When I go to the Y to work out, I put him the Kid's Corner and when I pick him up, they always tell me what a happy baby he is. He really does give the best smiles and now he's starting to give little giggles as well.
