July 4th

Kari's Dad made some super duper bubbles that the boys had fun popping!
Jakob and Ty at Dunning Springs.
Daddy and Ty making their funny faces for the camera. It cracks me up how much they can look alike and not even try.

Today we went to Decorah, IA. Friends of ours, John and Kari and their son Jakob, invited us here to celebrate the Fourth. Luther College is in this town and this is where John and Kari went to school. They showed us all around and we had so much fun! First, Kari's parents, generously welcomed us into their house where they made super large bubbles, then John & Jakob showed us around town and took us to a place called Dunning Springs. It was so beautiful and I would love to come back to this place to camp. The Falls were spectular! I even managed to climb to the top of them which is where the picture of my two boys making funny faces was taken at. Then we went to the community pool where Tyler had a blast going down the water slide. This is how much a father loves his son. Joel hates the water and yet he took Ty down the slide and even played in the pool with him. This made Ty very, very happy. They went up and down that slide so many times. I cannot wait till I can take him down the slide. I was so tempted to go down it.
Jakob and Ty seemed to have a lot of fun together. Jakob is just one of the cutest kids. He kept asking "Shall we go...?" whenever we were planning on going somewhere. So proper and so darn cute on a 3 year old.
The drive there was very pretty and hilly and curvy. On the way home, Ty and I had fun pretending we were on a roller coaster. He would throw his hands up in the air as we went down and a hill and yell "Wheeee!" When we went around a curve, he would lean in the direction of the curve and yell "Whoooooo!" He made the drive back so much fun!
